I decided to rip out my old pond and make my pond much larger. This idea came along when ALL of my fish, koi included, got eaten by a heron, so I decided to start over.Here are some pictures of my first pond. Below the picture is the log I kept while I built this pond. It took quite a bit longer than I thought it was going to.

Sunday, July 12: Cleared out all of the old cement, filled hole with water to make it easier to dig.
Monday, July 13: Digging, digging, digging.....
Wednesday, July 15: Done digging. Leveled out the bottom of my pond. Laid down plastic. Poured 4 inches of concrete.
Friday, July 17: Aquired block for sides of pond. Put a thin layer of cement on the blocks to smooth them out.
Sunday, July 19: Put the final layer of cement on the main pond. I put black cement color on the final coat to make the cement dark.
Monday, August 3: Put in the "plant trough." Built up the sides of the upper pond. Prepping for waterfall.
Saturday, September 5: Put up waterfall, lined it with plants. Finished putting flagstone around entire pond.
Sunday, September 6: Pond is finally finished! Pipe for the waterfall installed, and filter/pump hooked up. I put all of the pond plants in, and am begining the curing process.
Wednesday, September 23 (1998): First fish is introduced to the pond. So far is alive and well. Pictures of the pond will be posted within the next two weeks!!
